I just finished setting up WordPress tonight after trying to figure out MovableType and b2evolution.

Just a note to anyone interested in setting up their own blog without using livejournal.com or other:
If you want a very easy to install, mature blog package, I can’t recommend WordPress enough. I spent a long time last night looking at the software packages out there, trying to install MovableType, and then giving up. Why? I read that WordPress took less than 5 minutes to get running…and it’s true.
All you need is a server with MySQL and Apache + the PHP module If that sounds foreign, MySQL is a free database server and Apache is a free webserver used by a *lot* of websites.
